About

The Los Feliz Writers Festival is an annual festival that will take place on August 23rd and 24th, 2025 focused on creating a space for Los Feliz writers and literary texts to be shared, celebrated, and developed in community.


Our Team

Co-Director

Sammy (aka the LiteraryPixie) is a Los Feliz Writer, teacher, and organizer based between London & Los Angeles. She is the co-director of the Los Feliz Writers Festival and the co-director of the CSUN Writing Project. She also edits two zines, The Feminist Toilet & TrashLit and has written three blooks.

Co-Director

D.W. Socha is a Los Feliz writer who has won several awards including the Rod Serling Award for screenwriting. She recently published her first novel, The Fair And The Castle, and is passionate about helping other writers explore their creativity. 

Literary Trivia Host

Molly Sanchez is a Los Feliz writer who works currently works at Exploding Kittens. She has been published in places including Hello Giggles, The Tusk, and Thrillist, as well as highlighted in Teen Vogue, The New York Times, and The San Francisco Chronicle. She hosts a podcast and teaches sketch comedy writing.

Advisor

Phil Leirness is a Los Feliz Writer, filmmaker, podcaster, teacher, CA-certified Violence Prevention Specialist, and live show host. His Substack – “The Voice of Los Feliz” – celebrates the neighborhood he loves. Phil has loved Los Feliz all his life, though he would move to Malta if his wife would allow it.

Workshop Leader

Ryan Socha is a Los Feliz writer who has been a resident for 18 years. He deeply enjoys being involved in community events. He writes occult, horror, and comedy stories, sometimes all in one. He loves practicing mindfulness and meditation. For fun he plays chess and goes for runs.
