FAQs
What if I’m on the waitlist?
The Los Feliz Writers Festival is a free community resource for any and all writers in Los Angeles. We are thrilled by the overwhelming response and number of RSVPs we’ve gotten so far. If you are on the waitlist, you are welcome to show up to the event anyway, you may not have a seat or materials but are welcome to stand and participate. We will only turn away writers if we are absolutely at capacity.
Any advice about parking/transportation?
Each venue has a different parking situation! We have attached the information at the bottom of each Partiful. All our venues are intentionally located walking distance from each other as well as all in the center of Los Feliz to make it accessible for you to walk, bike, or use public transit.
ADA and Accessibility
If you have any ADA or accessibility needs, please email the organizer Sammy (seeliterarypixie@gmail.com) within 24 hours of the event. At the event, please check-in with us so we can ensure your accessibility needs are met! It is important to us that you are able to be part of our festival and our community!!
I can’t make it to the festival and/or the workshop I wanted to attend, but love this – will you have other events?
Yes, we will and do! Join our email list and follow our Instagram @losfelizwriters to stay up-to-date! Sign-up here.

Feedback on your writing will be organized after the festival and take place over zoom! We will send an email with more details to those who donate.
I had some thoughts about the festival and want to share some feedback! Where do I share it?
We created an anonymous feedback form for you to share your feedback with us! Feedback is important and helps us grow. This is our second year as a festival and we know we are learning and have some blind spots. We’d also love to hear if there is something that you loved, too!
Here’s the form.
How long have you been doing this festival?
This is our second festival!!! Last year was our first one. It was super fun, so we decided to do it again! Last year was 6 events and this year is 13. So excited and grateful at how many people wanted to organize events for our community, as well as have fun writing and celebrating writers together!!
I’d love to perform next year, have my writing published in your zine, or pitch an event, how can I do that?
We’d love that!!!! We have a google form where you can pitch events to us. Here’s the form!
For our events for the festival, we did an open call for proposals as well as an open call to writers to submit to our neighborhood zine where their writing would be published and distributed around the neighborhood.
It’s important before pitching and taking on leadership and responsibility that you are an engaged member of our community.
Some ways to engage:
- Come to our weekly Shut Up and Writes
- Have fun at our festival
- Join our email list and come out to support writers in the neighborhood, participate in book clubs, etc.
- Attend the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council Cultural Affairs Committee!
